Nexpay, one of the fastest-growing fintech companies in the Baltics, is currently seeking a highly skilled individual for the Compliance and Legal Officer position. With a track record of substantial growth since 2017, having facilitated over 600 business accounts and transactions exceeding €7bn, Nexpay operates from offices in Riga and Vilnius, with a rapidly expanding team.

In this pivotal role, the Compliance and Legal Officer will play a crucial part in upholding regulatory standards and ensuring adherence to compliance procedures within the organization. The successful candidate will be tasked with overseeing compliance, fostering a culture of integrity and accountability across the company.

Job requirements

As Compliance and Legal Officer in this role, you will:

  • Monitor regulatory developments from the Bank of Lithuania and EU regulators; assess their impact on the business

  • Implement latest law changes, regulator guidance documents and best practices

  • Develop, implement, and maintain internal policies and procedures in line with regulatory expectations.

  • Conduct internal compliance audits, gap analysis, compliance risk assessments, and monitor ongoing adherence.

  • Participating or leading various compliance related projects and initiatives

  • Draft, review, and negotiate commercial contracts, including those with partners, service providers, and customers

  • Provide legal advice to business units on new products and services

  • Assist with any additional compliance/legal related tasks.

What we're looking for:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Law

  • 3+years of professional experience in a compliance and/or legal role within the law firm, and/or financial sector or regulatory body

  • Fluency in English and Lithuanian (both written and spoken)

  • An innovative and solution-oriented mindset

  • Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills

  • Excellent attention to detail, strong ethics, and the ability to work independently

  • Ability to adapt to a changing and fast paced environment.
